Senior HR Advisor

Job Description
- Provides a high level of effective and timely HR consulting and advisory services to internal customers on a variety of employee relations and human resources topics
- Partner with department managers to recommend solutions to situations concerning work demands, morale and motivation
- Determine & recommend employee relations practices to establish a positive employer-employee relationship
- Respond to inquiries and concerns from managers and employees. Acting as an impartial resource by listening to issues and facilitating the resolution of conflict
- Coach managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction responsibilities
- Provide effective full-cycle recruitment for positions, as needed
- Effectively support HR programs, policies and initiatives by championing innovation and continuous improvement as methods to improve HR & business performance
- Research, develop, recommend & draft HR policies & procedures that govern
- Partner with managers to ensure HR policies, procedures and programs are properly understood and communicated to their teams
-  Support the development of job descriptions
- Support management & employees return to work programs 

Education Required: 
     Undergraduate degree in business or related HR Certificate

Certificates Required: 
     CHRP designation (or in progress) is an asset.

Number of Years of Previous Experience Required: 
     5 to 7 years demonstrated and progressive HR generalist experience
Job Skills
- Working knowledge of relevant provincial legislation (multiple provincial jurisdictions an asset) including Employment Standards, Human Rights Code and common law practices
- Familiarity with, and previous use of, HRIS, recruitment / applicant tracking and payroll tools (Ceridian, Dayforce an asset)
- Detailed oriented and holds a high standard for accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems both independently and collaboratively
- Understands and responds to sense of urgency with the ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Handles transactions and dealings in the best interest of both the customer and Company.
- Ability to influence and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-directed, works independently; results driven/initiative - Takes responsibility for assigned tasks, shows initiative to suggest improvements to processes and procedures.
