Welder Fitter

Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
    Interpret Engineering drawings and specifications
    To understand tasked project scope/requirements
    Utilize industry tools and equipment, including
    Powered saws, magnetic drill presses, hand shears
    Chipping knives, portable grinders, hand files, and
    scrapers.
    Fabricate templates and other work assembly aids
    Use precision measuring tools to inspect grooves angles and assembly alignments
    Ability to weld parts in flat position
    Conduct tests to check weld quality, including destructive, cross-sectional assessments
    Maintain proper equipment, repair as required

Education Required: 
High school diploma or equivalent, preferably a post secondary diploma/certificate in a related technical discipline.

Number of Years of Previous Experience Required: 
The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 years of welding experience and a good working knowledge of standard welding tools and techniques.

Job Skills
Job Requirements:
    Solid understanding of the English language is required in order to communicate and understand assignments and training
    Responsibility and reliability is a must
    Forklift truck experience would be an asset
    MIG Welder Certification through CWB (CSA W47.1 Qualification) or other similar Industry
    Strong working knowledge of industry tools and equipment
    Comfortable with moderate lifting
    Physical activity
    Able to read/interpret Engineering drawing good oral/written communication skill set proficient in basic math
